Padstow Park Public School celebrated Harmony Day today, Wednesday, 21st March.
Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity, a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home. The Day coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Children were asked to dress in either orange mufti clothes or Traditional National Dress from their cultural heritage. Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Day.
Children were also encouraged to bring artefacts or photos to help celebrate their cultural heritage. These items will be shown and shared with their classmates.
The day will start with a short assembly under the cola and the children will then have follow up activities in their classroom.
